Option 1 (Sold out for 2024)
If you are a new beekeeper that needs equipment also, I install package bees into a brand new polystyrene hive. The bees are installed on 5 frames of drawn, and 5 undrawn comb, and release the queen when she is ready. Your bees are then cared for and inspected by a Beekeeper for the important first couple weeks. I make sure the queen is laying okay, the bees are healthy and growing before you pick them up. These packages should be ready for pick up Mid May. The hive will be ready for the second box soon after pick up (included). Complete Double deep packages with bees installed start at $600. Option 2 (Nucs are Sold Out for 2024)
I also sell 5 frame nucs, If you have all the equipment already and just need bees to replenish your hive. 5 Frame nucs are made from overwintered bees and consist of 5 drawn frames, Bees and brood of all ages with a new queen. Nucs sell for $300 each and come with a re-usable wood nuc box that you keep. Nucs are limited and sell out fast every year. They are ready for pickup at the end of May or early June. We use same year queens purchased from reputable Queen breeders. My bees are inspected regularly by the Alberta Government. Deposits may be requested. Pick up location is close to Ardrossan Alberta. You are welcome and encouraged to inspect the bees before or during pick up. Bees are locked up the night before pick up, so expect to come early in the day.
